2016 Volvo XC90 Specs and Improvements

The new 2016 Volvo XC90 has been presented at the Paris Motor Show and from what we’ve seen, it will show many improvements in exterior and interior design.

2016 Volvo XC90 Exterior Changes and Design

At first sight, 2016 Volvo XC90 will look very similar to its forerunner. However it will appear with a lot of new details and refinements. Because of the new architecture, it will be a bit larger. The front fascia with stylish grille will be higher and the hood will be slightly longer and sleeked. The headlight will be thin and narrow which will give it strong and masculine appearance. It will use LED technology as well. The zigzag taillights will be placed vertically and wheels will be larger and will range up to 22-inches.

Design of Interior and Features

Interior of 2016 Volvo XC90 will be completely redesigned. The cabin is spacious with three rows of seats, so it is capable of accommodating up to seven passengers. The front seats are redesigned for better back support, so are the second row seats which are adjustable. Third row can be folded if it is necessary for more luggage space. Instead of plenty of buttons, new XC90 will offer a large 9.3-inch LCD display placed in the center of the dash board. It will be equipped with navigation, Bluetooth, heated seats, audio system, Volvo’s Sensus system and many other safety features: whiplash-protection system, airbags etc.

Engine Types and Performance

2016 Volvo XC90 will be powered with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine which will be able to make 315 horsepower. It will be paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. It will also appear with a hybrid version and it will be a combination of T8 inline four-cylinder engine and an electric motor which will together produce an amazing 400 horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque. It could reach 60 mph in less than 6.4 seconds.
