Japanese automaker Nissan is once again revealing one of its well known mid size sedans. We are talking about new and improved 2016 Nissan Altima.

Changes and design of exterior

2016 Nissan Altima was caught during its testing in Detroit and we have notice many changes. It will ride on the same platform as the current model called Nissan D platform. It will undergo many improvements and refreshments in all the segments. The changes will be visible both in exterior and interior. When it comes to external appearance, new Nissan will look very attractive and elegant at the same time. The most noticeable changes will be visible on the front end of the vehicle. It will feature new grille inspired by the “V-Motion” design. It will be a bit larger and decorated with chrome. The headlamps will be also redesigned and reshaped. The rear end will go through some small changes. We can expect refreshed tail lights and trunk.

The interior of 2016 Nissan Altima will be slightly refreshed and improved with new tech features. It will continue to offer comfortable and quiet ride for all the occupants. The cabin will be able to welcome five passengers. The comfort will be on the highest level. As for the equipment, Altima will get advanced features. Some of them are: navigation, Bluetooth, USB, new touch screen display and so on. As for the safety, it will be provided with airbags, traction control, ABS etc.

Engine and performance

Under the hood of 2016 Nissan Altima will be placed several engines. The one is a 2.5-liter inline-four. This engine will be able to produce 182 horsepower. The other option is a 3.5-liter V6 engine. It will make 270 horsepower.  As for the transmission, it will most likely be paired with a CVT. It will be able to go from 0 to 60 mph in 7.5 seconds. It will also be more fuel efficient than before. Some claim that it should also get a hybrid version but it is not yet confirmed.

Release date and price

2016 Nissan Altima will be revealed this summer and it should go on sale this fall. As for the price, we believe that it won’t be under $23,000.
