Another great SUV is ready to be presented. After almost of five years, GMC is finally revealing its fully updated and improved 2016 GMC Terrain.

Changes and redesign of exterior

Automaker has done a really great job. 2016 GMC Terrain has been brought to perfection with its new and improved exterior design. It will look more modern although it will retain its square and a bit aggressive appearance. It will be offered in following trims: SL, SLE, SLT and Denali. Speaking of the exterior, new Terrain will get completely new and revised both front and rear fascias. On the front, we will notice new grille decorated with chrome accents. The C- shaped head lights will get LED daytime running lamps. The hood will be also revised. Some models will get rectangular dual exhaust pipes. SLE-1 and SLE-2 models will get 17-inch aluminum wheels. However, it will be also offered with an 18- inch and 19-ich aluminum wheels depending on a trim.

The interior of 2016 GMC Terrain will be a pure luxury. The cabin is quite spacious and very comfortable. The seats are wide and upholstered in cloth or high quality leather. There is a plenty of head and leg room for all the occupants. The rear seats are split-folding if needed for more cargo space. The dashboard is also wide and it gets a 7-inch LCD touch screen. Some of the standard features are: AM/FM/CD audio system, air conditioning, cruise control, USB, a rearview camera etc. Higher trim levels get: Pioneer sound system, navigation, automatic climate control, rear-seat DVD entertainment system, GMC IntelliLink infotainment system, and so on.

Powertrain and acceleration

2016 GMC Terrain will be offered with two engines. The one is a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder with direct injection. This engine will be able to produce 180 horsepower. It will be able to get 60 mph in around 9 seconds. The other option is a 3.6-liter V-6 engine with the output of 301 horsepower and 272 lb-ft of torque. It will be able to go from 0-60 mph in 6.5 seconds. The engines will be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. It will be offered with all-wheel drive.

Release date and price

2016 GMC Terrain should go on sale this fall. As for the price, the information is still unknown. However, we believe that it won’t be under $25,000 which is the price of the current model.
